Logo Design Guidelines and Parameters
The purpose of this contest is to design a logo to be used by Piedmont Humanists for 2018 and beyond.

The logo’s design should reflect the humanist philosophy and its various components which include among many others, free thought, understanding through exploration and rationale consideration, empathy, service to others, planetary responsibility, cultural enrichment, a strong sense of ethics, and a love of life.

Entries must be submitted as JPEG files. With regard to colors, contestants are advised to avoid gradients and half-tones.

Two versions of a single logo should be rendered. The dimensions of one version should be 600-1100 pixels by 600-1100 pixels. A second version should be 850 pixels wide by 300 pixels tall.

The logo must be easy to resize and manipulate for all reproduction purposes. The logo should maintain visual appeal in both small and large scales.

The logo must include the words “Piedmont Humanists”, but the placement of the text must be outside the artwork itself. The logo should also deliver, in some form, a locational/geographical message indicating that we are an upstate South Carolina group. This component can be provided through the artwork or the text.
